The Reluctant Farmer thinks most women don’t have their own cabinets in the garage! I seriously doubt that! I know my people and we have storage everywhere!!!

The reluctant farmer and I spun our honey yesterday! We have 120 pounds for our co-op. As usual, he was thrilled about the whole activity. We’ve made the decision that we are going to hire someone to manage the bees moving forward. It’s too much for us to handle anymore. It’s been fine and we’ve learned a lot and we’ll still get some honey, and I can go play with the bees whenever I want without all the pressure of keeping them alive and healthy. Total respect for beekeeper!

It was Honey Day 2026! We labored on Labor Day! Not sure how many pounds we harvested but we will find out when we go to spin the honey later this month!

Another hot day here on the farm. They don’t call Labor Day weekend for nothing! Labor it is around here.

The reluctant farmer has not been weeding his one quarter of a row. He’s a little mouthy about me not doing it for him. Also, we had a swarm of bees decide they wanted to set up shop in the boxes that we had sitting out waiting to be cleaned. So now we have to set up a new home for them, feed them and acclimate them to their new “apartment”. Then next week we will close them up and move the hive box back into the apiary. These bees are a lot of work!
