We are less than 3 days away from the start of the Wandering Ewe Yarn Crawl and we are scampering around to get ready. In order for us to be ready for Friday morning there will be no Open Needlework on Thursday evening. We will be closing at 5:00.

We will have a lot of fun kits for both knitters and crocheters and a free gift for the first 50 purchasers.

Gong through my email today a picture of a knit pair of socks caught my eye. I decided to read the article and found out the pattern was free on Ravelry and almost 400 people have made the socks. The socks are the FILM REEL SOCKS designed by Alex Parker Mooney. All of us have a favorite genre of movie and this pattern allows you to “honor” your favorite genre by deciding which of four heels to knit…Thriller Genre (cut-in afterthought), Sci-Fi/Fantasy Genre (forethought), Action/Adventure Genre (German short row), and RomCom Genre (wrap-and-turn short row). Besides the designer giving you a choice of which heel you want to make, she presents many tips, tricks, and tutorials to guide you in your knitting.

The last couple of days I have been going through my stash (can you believe, one of our customers has no stash) to see what yarns I will need for the projects I have been thinking of doing in the future. Of course, I did not have the right weight, color, fiber, or amount of yarn needed for the projects. With all of the yarn I have at home, my husband could not understand that I did not have the “right” yarn for the projects, but he gave me guidance as to what I have to do. The challenge is on.
