Join us for Cooking for a Cause on September 10th! During Cooking for a Cause Week, monetary donations will be collected to support our Student Resource Room on campus. On the day of the event, for every dining hall swipe, 1 meal will be donated to our Student Resource Room on campus.
This year we’re excited to welcome Chef Norman Hunt, District Executive Chef supporting dining operations across Louisiana. Raised in Metairie, Chef Hunt’s love of cooking started with his Filipino grandmother, who taught him to “cook the ingredients, not the meal,” a philosophy that still shapes his approach to flavor, technique, and storytelling through food. He sharpened his craft at the Ritz-Carlton in New Orleans and St. Louis, serving celebrities and U.S. presidents along the way. As Executive Chef at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, he introduced the “Roots” station, a daily hot vegan and plant-based option that helped redefine what campus dining could look like. Chef Hunt now brings that same spirit of innovation and community to campuses across the state.
