We love partnering with this awesome local small business to sell our products!
We throw a lot of words at you - local, raw, wildflower, ethically sourced, sustainable. But what does it all mean? Let's get into it.
âLocal- With over 100 hives, we operate primarily in Hood County, but do have 18 hives located in Aledo and Roanoke. Each bottle is labeled with the ranch it was harvested from so you know exactly where your purchase is coming from.
âRaw- Our honey comes straight from the comb to the bottle. We pop the wax seal, extract the honey, run it through a sieve (just to catch the wax) and bottle it for you. This process allows the most nutrients to remain in your honey keeping it as pure as possible for your table.
âWildflower- We actively sow Texas Native Wildflowers, both heirloom seed and locally produced seed on each property we manage to provide our honeybees with ample resource throughout the growing season.
âEthically Sourced- We are rearing our honeybees 12 months out of the year. After harvest we ensure they continue to have flowers in bloom and in the depths of winter we supplement feed our hives. We use integrated pest management to relocate and deter other insects or small mammals that may want to make a beehive home. We utilize proactive and adaptive management to prevent disease or collapse and will never use chemicals in our hives.
âSustainable- Along with planting wildflowers, we plant Texas native trees such as Red Bud, Live Oaks, and Desert Willows. These plants not only supplement our honeybees, but provide shelter and food for Bumblebees, native birds, and small mammals. Additionally, by targeting planting Milkweed, Queen Anne's Lace, and Passion Vine, we are ensuring the next generation of Monarchs, Swallowtail Butterflies, and Hummingbirds.
While our promise to you is to be transparent with our practices while bringing you authentic local honey, our promise to the land we steward is to support and renew it.
