I took the morning off yesterday to visit the Waugh Arboretum at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst for a tree walk led by Dr. Michael Dirr. What a fun morning.

I never know who's going walk down my driveway. That keep things exciting at times.

In this case, it wasn't as much of a surprise as I had invited Young Choe to visit a couple years ago, on one of her tours through New England. The last week she has spent in New England giving Kusamono workshops. I had received an email from the Pioneer Valley Bonsai Club that Young was doing a demonstration for them. So I knew she was around. My buddy, Rex Mark told me I should reach out to her. When I did, she said she'd like to visit O'Brien's. Seems she saw a facebook post by Les Allen about O'Brien Nursery.

Young Choe is my first visitor from the United States National Arboretum, in Washington, DC! Boy, did we have fun talking about plants!

Imagine my joy to see this while watering at dusk tonight.

Get out and take a look in the Western sky, the Moon with Venus.

Yesterday mornings weather conditions were perfect for a Japanese Maple to take flight. Despite a few delays from mission control , we were able to get this maple out and on its way!
