“27 Days to Home”
We are 27 days away from the release of our new album, No Place Like Home.
We're going to countdown to its release with a list of essential elements that made this album and our upcoming album release party possible.
Spotlight #27: If I Were Good
Some songs come easy. You pick up a guitar and the lyrics and melody flow out of you, as if it was being channeled through you. If I Were Good is not one of those songs. It was written in early 2024 more like a poem with no melody and was forgotten. It sank deeper and deeper into my phone until I rediscovered it late 2025 while looking for another song suffering the same fate. I read it, loved it, and put it to music feeling that I had something good to work with.
But his song didn't immediately take off like some do. We all liked it but we struggled to capture it in a way that reflected the emotion of the lyrics. Months went by and still we only had a rough draft of what we wanted. I suggested that we drop the song and replace it with another but the other 3 guys wouldn't have it. We stuck with it and on our 3rd and final day at LaLuna and with some help from Joe Hettinga, we successfully broke this song down to it's basic elements and rebuilt it the way it sits. I am immensely proud of this song. At one time I was ready to abandon it out of frustration and then it became one of my favorites on this record. - Levi
