Friends, just a little note as we get ready to send our kids back to school. First off, remind your kids to be kind. Let them know that if another child doesn’t wear as nice of clothing or the same brands, it is probably not a choice. It doesn’t mean that they are any less of a person. Talk to your kids about potentially helping others when they may be more privileged.
Secondly, I was about to private message someone yesterday, who was asking for help, about bringing their kids into pick up some back to school clothes when I realized that they consider secondhand items to be embarrassing. I want to remind everyone that secondhand shopping is not limited to less fortunate people. It is beneficial to poor people, rich people, environmentally-conscious people, and just a fun and smart way to shop with your kids!
With that said, I am always happy to help if possible. I believe kids go back to school with a little pep in their step when they have an outfit that makes them feel confident, whether it is new or secondhand.
