Grand Haven, this one is for a good cause.

Snug Harbor is hosting the Bourbon & Beef Showdown on Saturday, October 3, with an afternoon of food, bourbon, live music and friendly competition, all raising funds for Mulligan’s Hollow.

The heated deck opens at noon, with the silent auction starting at 1 PM and Big Daddy Fox live from 3 to 7 PM. Public slider tasting begins at 4:30 PM, with three tasting tickets for $10 and guests voting for the People’s Choice favorite. Winners will be announced at 6 PM.

Come hungry, bring your friends and help support a place that has created generations of memories for Grand Haven families.

The 10 Block of Washington Avenue is officially OPEN!

After another legendary summer of concerts, crowds, events, visitors and approximately 47,000 people asking, So… can I drive down Washington? WE MADE IT.

The barricades are down. The cones are gone. Your GPS can finally stop rerouting you like you're on a cross-country road trip.

Enjoy your street back, Grand Haven!

We’ll see you next summer when we close it all down again. We can't wait!

Grab your broomsticks. Witches & Warlocks Night Out is coming to Downtown & Centertown on Friday, October 2 from 5 to 8 PM, followed by the Witches & Warlocks Ball from 8 PM to midnight.

How it works:

Join the Witches Walk: Meet at The Brass River in front of Lynne Sherwood Stadium at 5 PM to pick up your Spellbook. Take a walk through town, visit participating businesses, collect signatures and enjoy an activity at each stop.

Create your own adventure: Not joining the walk? Pick up a Spellbook at Kirby and Silverfire and visit participating businesses throughout the evening.

Collect signatures: Visit participating merchants, shop, dine and take part in special activities while collecting signatures in your Spellbook.

Turn in your Spellbook: Drop your completed Spellbook at Kirby or Silverfire before the end of the event.

Enter to win $500: Every five merchant signatures earns one entry into the cash drawing. Extra signatures are available with purchases. The drawing will take place the following week.

Then, keep the night going at the Witches & Warlocks Ball The Kirby House

8 PM to midnight

Live music with DJ JC Xtreme, specialty themed drinks, Halloween decor and a costume contest.

Costume Contest Winners announced at 9:30 PM.

First Place: Dinner for two at 1873 at The Kirby including one appetizer, two entrees and one dessert. $150 maximum value.

Second Place: Drinks and charcuterie at MO's 2.0, including two specialty cocktails and one charcuterie board. $70 maximum value.

Third Place: $30 Kirby House gift card.

Costumes encouraged! Grab your friends, pick up a Spellbook and make a night of it. Shop, dine, explore and then dance the night away.

It’s more than events.

We’re working year round to support our businesses, improve our district and help shape what’s next for Downtown, Centertown, Old Town and Hilltop.

This year, that includes a full calendar of events, new landscaping and beautification projects, the completed Centertown Vision Plan, new development, streetscape improvements and more ways to support our local businesses.

There’s a lot happening, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.
