We are taking the pretty paper things on the road for the first time in a LONG time! Write It Down will be popping up at Rewrite Your Story on September 19 at the Art Center of Western Colorado.

A full-day workshop about letting go of old stories and figuring out what comes next feels like a particularly appropriate place for a stationery store, don’t you think?

We will have brand new notebooks, pens, paper goods and plenty of things you definitely didn’t know you needed until you saw them.

Apparently you can’t Rewrite Your Story without something good to WRITE IT DOWN. Convenient? Yes. Do you know someone who can help with that? Sure do!

Write It Down is popping up at the Rewrite Your Story Full-Day Workshop on September 19 at the Art Center of Western Colorado, and will be bringing plenty of pretty paper things along with me. NEW notebooks will be out before they hit the antique desks so you are prepared to rewrite your story!

If a new chapter deserves a new notebook, we fully support that kind of decision making and would love to help you find the new perfect notebook to do it with.

We spend an embarrassing amount of time picking notebooks that feel as good as they look.

Linen covers. Thick paper. Gold foil. Lay-flat pages.

Go ahead. Judge a notebook by its cover.

We certainly did.

I have a theory.

Stationery people don’t buy notebooks because they need more paper.

We buy them because they make us believe we’re about to become the kind of person who journals every morning, has beautifully organized meeting notes, and never forgets anything.

Then we get home and think, “This notebook is too nice to use.”

Months later, it’s still sitting on the shelf waiting for the perfect idea.

Here’s your official permission slip:

Write the grocery list in the good notebook. Take messy notes. Cross things out. Let it get a coffee stain.

The best notebooks aren’t the perfect ones. They’re the ones that tell the story of a real life.

Now be honest…How many blank notebooks do you own? 📓

I have a confession.

I own more pens than one person could reasonably justify.

And despite that, if I find a pen I love, there’s a very good chance it’s coming home with me.

The funny thing is that I don’t think pen people are actually collecting pens.

We’re collecting possibilities.

Maybe this one becomes the pen you reach for every day.
Maybe this one finally fills that notebook you’ve been saving.
Maybe this one makes writing feel a little more enjoyable.

Most of us don’t need another pen.

We’re just hoping for another reason to write.

Now tell me:

What’s your favorite pen?

🖊️ P.S. This week’s Desk Drawer Thoughts newsletter is all about pen hoarding, favorite pens, and why pen collecting and pen using are two entirely different hobbies.

At this point our mailboxes are basically:
• bills
• junk mail
• political postcards
• things we immediately throw away

And honestly? We deserve better mail.

More handwritten notes.
More real connection.
More pen to paper.
More reasons to actually look forward to checking the mailbox again 💌

Introducing the Write It Down Pen Pal Club ✨

A cozy little club for people who miss thoughtful mail, love paper and good pens, and want actual human connection outside of notifications and group texts.

Because let’s be honest: most of us are not going to magically become the kind of people who consistently sit down and write letters on our own.

That’s why clubs exist 😂

Dedicated time.
Creative space.
Cute stationery.
People expecting your letter.
A reason to finally use the good pens.

We just opened the interest list and would LOVE for you to join if this sounds like your kind of thing 💌
