We have double events tomorrow, Saturday August 15!

In the morning, from 11-1:00 pm, we have author and illustrator Deborah Marcero here for a Meet and Greet for her new picture book "The Great Escape". Come down just before 11 to hear her kick-off our story hour!

In the evening, starting at 6:00, we are hosting Keith Morris for an Author Talk discussing his book "Growing Up on the Gunflint Trail" which digs into tons of local history of the Trail!

Both events are free, open to the public, and mobility aid accessible. Our meet and greets happen during store hours, so walking space can get congested, our booksellers are always on hand and happy to help!

Oddly grateful to Covid for making mask wearing a common practice! We’re seeing lots of people wearing masks outside with the smoke on the North Shore and it definitely helps slow headaches and throat irritation.

In bookish news, we are open (every day!) and Gwen is loving the new Daniel Mason novel. Country People is smart, witty, and full of humor and real characters.

Stop by the store to check it out or order online from drurylanebooks.com 🤓

"Remember the Main:
The Gay Bar That Started a Movement in the Northland"

Come sit with us and learn about the Main Club, a Twin Ports gay bar that quickly turned into a hub for health information, fundraising, and political activism during the 1980's. After the book talk, Meg will be available to answer questions and sign books.

This event is free, open to the public, and mobility aid accessible. We are still under construction and do not have an accessible restroom available.

"Meg Gorzycki reveals how grassroots organizing and mutual aid emerged in places too often left out of the historical record. Weaving oral history with narrative precision, she captures a generation that refused invisibility, transforming isolation into community and grief into action. -Ryan Berg, author of "No House to Call My Home"

June book club pick is THE ROAD TO TENDER HEARTS by Annie Hartnett.
Have you read this darkly comic road trip novel?

Our review from bookseller Kestrel:
An absolutely hilarious and heartfelt story of working through grief and trauma, and finding love in unanticipated people. I loved all of the characters so much, from grouchy and somewhat of a trickster PJ, exasperated Sophie, driven and heartbroken Luna, and the sweet spirited Ollie. And of course, Pancakes, the harbinger of death cat. Full of moments that will leave you laughing or crying, this was a totally delightful read for those who enjoyed the film Little Miss Sunshine.

Join our book club on Sunday June 21st, 5 pm at the bookstore!
