Coming out of a long hibernation to share condolences to our friends Redux Books—Clarence was truly one of a kind. He will be deeply missed in the book community.

He was a marvelous resource for us as a young bookstore. We’ll never forget his teasing kindness and humor.

It is with shock and dismay that we report the tragic death of store owner Clarence Hogeterp on Friday, June 3. Clarence was biking with a good friend during a noon hour break from work and a mile from home, Clarence was involved in an accident. The facts are not difficult to understand; the meaning is beyond belief. Our hearts are broken.

The store is temporarily closed and we will update here when we decide to reopen. Details on memorial service will also be shared when availablle.

Finished moving and obsessed with my new space. This weird little work bench was built into the wall of my new apartment when I moved in (thanks, Portland!).
