For young men, learning how you present yourself to the world can make a difference in school, relationships, opportunities, and eventually your career.

William Braylock of Every Kid Deserves a Dope Father had the opportunity to speak with young men ages 13–16 about something that can have an impact long before they realize it: the impression they leave on others.

How you dress.
How you speak.
How you carry yourself.
How you treat people.
How you respond when nobody is forcing you to do the right thing.

These lessons aren’t just about looking good—they’re about developing character, confidence, discipline, and respect.

Our young men deserve positive examples, honest conversations, and people willing to pour into them.

What do you do when your child cusses you out?

Do you immediately focus on the disrespect?

Or do you take a step back and ask yourself, “What’s really going on with my child — and what part might I be playing in this?”

That kind of reflection isn’t always easy.

In this Dope Fathers Academy session, fathers explored what it means to repair relationships with their children — including learning to listen beyond the behavior, understand their child’s perspective, and recognize that sometimes there’s a bigger story behind the moment.

Fatherhood isn’t about getting everything right.

It’s about being willing to listen.
It’s about being willing to grow.
And sometimes, it’s about being willing to repair what’s been broken.

What are you willing to sacrifice to be the father your child needs?

Fatherhood requires more than providing financially.

And sometimes, it requires us to change the way we live.

We can’t always wait for someone to tell us how to be fathers. We have to make the decision to become intentional about the role we play in our children’s lives.

Because our children are watching.

The way we show up.
The choices we make.
The priorities we set.
The example we give.
