I recently built a new set of wheels for my mom's Raleigh Sports, she didn't want to worry about gears anymore and liked the idea of using a coaster brake instead of the hand brakes that were on it. I had a set of hoops from my wife's Pashley that were the right size, and the cream colored tires that were on that bike match the paint on the Sports, glad to get her rolling again, and it just made me remember to make this Raleigh appreciation post.

Raleigh is one of the oldest and most versatile bicycle brands on the planet. If you're looking for an excellent bike of any type, and pretty much any reasonable price, they're bound to have one for you. Pictured are an entry level 70s mass produced ten speed, a top of the line same era super course and a modern city commuter with disc brakes, internally gear hub and the option to use a belt drive instead of a chain!

finally built up this Fondriest U07 Top Level frame that I've been sitting on for far too long. Lauren mentioned on a Wednesday evening ride a couple weeks ago that she was in need of a bike to ride 300 miles on this summer for a charity ride, this happened to be the right size and there were parts in the part bin to do it justice! 2x10 Rival mini group and campy brakes with some aero wheels. Love the way it came together and since she wore matching clothes, I convinced her to pose with it.

Finished up this spectacular 1983(?) Raleigh Tamarack today. Amazing Reynolds 502 19" (med/LG) frame with a bunch of cool details. This model is part of the Mountain Tour line from Raleigh USA, with relaxed geometry, and off road considerations, like cantilever brakes, big clearances, Raleigh branded Bullnose bars and get this 650b (27.5") wheels standard!!! I built a set of Velocity Cliffhangers onto the original Suzue sealed bearing hubs and added this beautifully preserved Belt leather saddle to the build. I think it turned out stunning. This was a full on gravel bike built in the early 80s, what a treat!

This will be for sale on FB marketplace and maybe Grand Rapids Craigslist. HMU if yr interested! Also have a more accurate Brooks B17 saddle that could find a home on here if it's wanted.
