Calling all lovers of Parosphromenus. We recently got in Nanoshromenus gemma, the Pho Xua Micro Gourami. This stunning tiny little labyrinth fish is new to the aquarium hobby, only described in July of 2026. Adults reach a maximum of .5”-.7”. They are from Vietnam and love a lower pH. We have been keeping them in 100% RODI water with lots of tannins. The males are starting to color up beautifully. These are supposed to be relatively easy to breed, if conditions are right. Give them some big leafed plants to build a bubble nest under. Feed them baby brine and daphnia. A pair will do just fine in a 2.5 gallon.

Shoal goals!! Meet the glass goby (Gobiopterus chuno)—a tiny, nearly see-through fish that tops out at just an inch long!

Unlike most gobies that stay glued to the bottom and guard their territory, these little guys from India and Southeast Asia are super peaceful and spend their days swimming together in shoals.

Imagine a nano tank with some flow and a group of these? How fun!

Why don’t we carry aquarium kits?

Well, it’s because we don’t believe a set up is a one-size-fits-all. Every fish, plant or invertebrate has their own requirements and we like to piece together set ups based on needs. It’s time to make some room. One of our long term displays needs a new home.

It’s a very established rimless nano, approximately 5 gallons. It’s home to a breeding colony of Bloody Mary Neocaridina and a school of exclamation point rasboras.

A great set up and the best part is you don’t have to do any of the start up!
