This June wedding Venue Bella Giornata was refreshingly close to our studio. It felt like we were planning a wedding in our own backyard.

AND the bride and groom are dear friends of my twin sons, which made it all the more special. There’s something incredibly meaningful about watching people you’ve known and loved through the years step into one of the most beautiful chapters of their lives.

There is so much about this early summer wedding that makes my heart so happy.

The venue, THE CHENEY PLACE has been one of our favorites for years. It’s beautiful, all the fun details, and has an incredible team behind it. Working alongside staff who genuinely care about every detail makes all the difference, and it’s always a joy creating something special together. Weddings here are seamless. Every. Single. Time.
We always look forward to coming back.

The summer blooms. The peach peony.

The venues antique garden iron arch. Always a favorite of mine to fill with greenery and florals. A stunning ceremony piece and we love the way the venue repurposed it for the reception! Jesse + Ahmeds sweetheart table was like eating in a summer garden.

The pale yellow taper candles. Just so summer.

And the bride’s sweet friends who gave of their time and all became a part of the Sofie’s Blooms team to help bring the vision to life.

A MOMENT FOR THE BAR.

When I first saw this beautiful cocktail and reception space, separated by a stunning massive 2 sided bar, I just knew it needed its own moment.

Designing a 360 degree floral install (swipe to see the view from the reception space🤍) took some creative mechanics under all the stunning fresh florals.

We took careful consideration of how guests would view it as they entered the space from the ceremony, as they enjoyed cocktail hour, AND from the reception space.

Set along the shoreline of Lake Michigan, this July wedding embraced an organic elegance inspired by the surroundings and the bride and groom.

Out of respect for our couple’s privacy, we aren’t able to share images of the bride and groom. Instead, we’re honored to offer a glimpse into the floral artistry that framed their day, because beautiful design has a way of telling its own story.

It’s an honor to create flowers for moments like these, even when the memories remain beautifully private.

When Alaina told me she loved cosmos, I knew they had to be part of her bouquet. Delicate, joyful, and effortlessly beautiful, they felt just like her.

What made this day even more meaningful was the chance to flower another sister in the same family. After creating the florals for her older sister’s wedding, it was such an honor to return and celebrate this next chapter.

Watching a family trust us with not one, but two of life’s most meaningful days is something we never take for granted.

Wishing Alaina and Riley a lifetime filled with as much joy as their wedding day.

The most beautiful venues are sometimes the most intimate private and personal settings.

This Michigan lakeside wedding was exactly that. What made it even more special was the bride’s genuine love of flowers. Every bloom was thoughtfully chosen with hues of a Michigan sunset. Soft butter yellows, creamy whites, delicate peaches, and the palest of pinks. Layers of natural texture that celebrated the beauty of a Michigan summer.

Designing for someone who truly appreciates flowers is one of the greatest gifts as a florist. Watching her and her families face light up as she saw everything come together reminded us why we do what we do.

Thank you for trusting us with such a meaningful day. It was an honor to create flowers for a celebration that will forever be part of your family’s story.
