Two folding power chairs are on the showroom floor side by side through September 30, and the only real way to know which one fits your life is to fold them, lift them, and drive them yourself.

The AeroLux 2C is the lighter of the two. Carbon fiber frame, 33 pounds, folds down to about 12 inches, and 12.5 miles of range on a charge. It's the one to look at first if the part that worries you is carrying the chair and finding somewhere to put it.

The Grand Tourer trades some of that weight for comfort and distance. It runs 15.5 miles on a charge, has three drive modes, and rolls on loading wheels that make getting it into a vehicle a much easier job.

Both of them fit in a trunk. They just solve different problems, and 20 minutes in the showroom answers the question faster than any spec sheet will. Bring the person who usually does the lifting and bring the vehicle you'd actually be loading it into, and we'll go through both with you. Here's what to look for in a rollator and what this one does:

✔️ Light enough to actually pick up. 11.5 pounds. Somebody picked it up in the showroom last week and couldn't believe the weight. It comes up with one hand, and it folds flat, so it rides in a trunk or tucks in a closet instead of taking over the garage.

✔️ A frame that holds. Carbon fiber, and there are no welds in it, which is where most rollators give out first. Fewer parts overall, too, so there's less to replace down the road.

✔️ Wheels for real ground. 9.5 inches in front and 8 in back, so a sidewalk seam or a door threshold isn't the thing that stops you, and the brake cables run inside the frame so nothing catches on a doorway.

✔️ A seat you'll actually use. 17.5 inches across with a backrest, for when you're halfway through the store and you need to sit down. The handles adjust to your height.

✔️ Style customers love. A sleek design and sophisticated matte finish that wins over people who weren't sure they wanted a rollator at all.

FOX 17 came out to the store yesterday. Thank you to Giselle Valentin FOX 17 for coming out and telling our story!

I used to say I was wheelchair bound, and now I say I'm wheelchair free. My chair isn't what limits me, it's what gives me my independence, and that's what I want for everybody who comes in here. A barrier-free life, where you can get out of the house and do things on your own again.

Our daughter Maddie put it better than I could. People come in, and sometimes they leave in tears, because we fixed the one thing they needed to get around again.

That's why we opened. Come see us anytime.
