Why I never thought to do this before lol!
I was getting ready to do some more Honey spinning, and I had to remove all the supers from the freezer that had been previously spun, licked clean by the bees, and frozen. Stack them and put the fan behind them and OMG! It’s like having an air conditioner for about five minutes😂🤣😂🤣
I have to tell you it was refreshing. The temperature in the shop was right at 100°. I think it was cooler outside.

🐝🍯 A VERY SPECIAL VISIT TO OUR BEE YARD! 🍯🐝

We were so excited to welcome Eleanor, our Illinois State Bee Inspector, and her partner to our bee yard this year! 🐝❤️

They were here as part of the United States National Survey of Honey Bee Health, and we were absolutely thrilled to be able to participate! 🐝🔬🍯

This isn’t something we have to do — it’s something we WANT to do. ❤️

Being a beekeeper isn’t just about putting honey in jars and selling it. First and foremost, it’s about taking care of our bees. 🐝💛 And if there’s an opportunity to learn more about what’s affecting honey bees, help keep an eye out for pests and diseases, and contribute to a bigger picture of honey bee health, we’re happy to be a part of it!

Eleanor inspected our colonies and collected samples that will be used to look at things like mites, pests, pathogens, viruses and other potential threats to honey bee health. 🐝🔎

We love knowing that the information gathered from our little corner of Illinois can become part of a much bigger effort to understand what is happening with honey bees across the country. 🌎🐝

And honestly… we just LOVE having people who care as much about bees as we do come out and get their hands in the hives! 😂🐝❤️

For our fellow beekeepers — if you get the opportunity to participate in the National Honey Bee Health Survey, we highly recommend it! It’s a wonderful way to learn more about your own bees while helping the greater honey bee community. 🐝🍯

And for everyone who enjoys our honey — this is just one more little glimpse into how seriously we take caring for the bees that make it. ❤️

We don’t just want healthy bees because they’re good for business.

We want healthy bees because WE LOVE OUR BEES. 🐝🥰

And healthy, happy, well-cared-for bees give us the best opportunity to produce the wonderful honey that eventually makes its way into your kitchen. 🍯❤️

We’re always looking for ways to be better beekeepers, better stewards of our bees, and better members of the beekeeping community.

The girls are back for round two lol! It’s just the craziest thing to have Bees flying around your head. I really don’t mind so much. It’s when they get around my glasses I get a little mouthy. 🤣🗣️
Then I have to go over and open up the door, or open up the window and get the duster! The whole time hollering everyone out of the pool 🤣 good grief, !
