Collaborate for Special 9/11 25th Anniversary Event & Commemoration Ride

Back the Blue Nevada County and American Legion Post 130 will come together on Patriot Day, Friday, September 11, 2026, for a special 9/11 25th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony and Ride.

The community is invited to join us as we remember and honor the thousands of lives lost on September 11, 2001, and express our gratitude to the first responders, emergency personnel and members of the United States Armed Forces—past and present—who have served and sacrificed for our nation and communities.

# # # COMMEMORATION CEREMONY • 4:00 PM

The ceremony at Patriot’s Point is scheduled to include a flyover, opening prayer, Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem, American Legion Post 130 Honor Guard, Taps performed by a bugler, 21-gun salute and a moment of silence.

At approximately 4:30 PM, participants will depart Patriot’s Point for the 9/11 25th Anniversary Commemoration Ride, with American, military and first responder flags proudly displayed.

The ride will travel through downtown Grass Valley and Nevada City and is planned to include participation from local fire, law enforcement and emergency service agencies.

All street-legal vehicle types are welcome to participate. All traffic laws must be observed throughout the ride. Printed route directions will be distributed to participants before departure.

This is a free community event, and everyone is welcome. Please help spread the word and invite your family, friends, neighbors, veterans, first responders and community members.

Extra American flags will be available for participants who need them.

We begin by cast-iron searing a vegan “Beyond Burger” patty as we grill a thick slice of organic red onion next to it, both in our own homemade organic sesame grilling gravy. We serve it up on a lightly-toasted organic hamburger bun with organic lettuce and freshly-sliced tomato. We layer in our own house-made special burger dressing made from the highest quality ingredients!

It comes with your choice of any of our cheese options (Rumiano Farms grass-fed cheddar cheese is the default option) OR avocado (have both for just $2 extra!).....and we also offer a vegan cheese option!

As with all our sandwiches, wraps, and main entrée specials, it comes with a garnish salad
consisting of organic mixed greens, hand-shredded organic carrots, and a cup of our famous house-made Green Goddess dressing.

Good morning community! Our beautiful summer flag took a beating last night and early morning from the weather and is sadly being retired as her damage is too extensive for repairs. Our heavy duty winter flag was raised just a bit ago by our amazing "Flag Ambassadors" just in time to honor 9/11. See our post below regarding the gathering at Patriots Point and our local American Legion Chapter Frank Gallino American Legion Post 130 will be joining Back the Blue Nevada County #9/11
FYI, all of our Garrison Flags are properly retired by our local Boy Scout troop and they also collect the community members flags placed in our designated drop box just a few steps away from our beloved flag 🇺🇸
