Headed to Grass valley this weekend?!? Welcome! This gold mining town has so much to offer. I’m so grateful that this place has become my forever home. The community we’ve built here couldn’t be created anywhere else. I’m proud to be a part of this ever-evolving town.

Get Repost App • City of Grass Valley So, about that arch...

It turns out it was part of a much bigger moment in Grass Valley history.

In 1901, the city celebrated Admission Day, honoring California becoming a state. Thousands of visitors came to town, and downtown was transformed with parades, music, and elaborate decorations lining the streets.

Multiple arches were built throughout town, each designed to welcome visitors and showcase pieces of California’s story. This was one of them.

A larger-than-life miner figure stretched across Main Street, holding a “WELCOME” sign as people passed beneath it. A fitting tribute to Grass Valley’s Gold Rush roots.

We recently connected with the Native Sons and Daughters of the Golden West and learned that while some records were lost in the 1906 fire, surviving articles describe just how large and detailed these displays were and how much pride the community took in the celebration.

It may have only been up for a short time, but it definitely left its mark.

It’s my birthday month & I’m savoring it all. It’s a bittersweet time for a summer lovin’ gal like me. I feel like I’m just getting into the ease of the season & everything & one around me is rushing to welcome fall. And to top it off being in retail we’ve got our first round of holiday shipments arriving & finalizing all the fall orders. A few pre-FALL pieces arrived to the shop. The cutest new embroidered olive green dress & a restock of some of our favorite organic cotton pieces plus a wild card item. The olive canvas babydoll & gingham shirtdress are both perfect now with sandals, but also adorable with boots heading into fall. The organic cotton poplin crisp white shirt is the perfect staple for all seasons. And maybe my new favorite item are the organic cotton pleated Bermuda shorts in black. I grabbed a pair myself & plan to wear them on repeat all summer with sandals, flip flops & wedges. Then when we get a hint of that crisp air they’ll be paired with tall boots & a cardi. LOVE.
