The legendary Jack Kirby was one of the greatest artists and innovators in comics. Working with Joe Simon, Stan Lee, and independently, Kirby produced countless pages over his long career. His interiors entertained generations and taught his comic book descendants how to draw. His dynamic covers promised essential tales. These are Kirby's Marvel covers from 1965 to 1968, a prime period for the master!

Gil Kane's art defined the style of Marvel Comics in the 1970s. On cover after cover, Kane's amazing craftsmanship promised action, conflict, and a kinetic energy like no other. This first volume in Fantagraphics' Lost Marvels series collects some of Kane's best and earliest works from this time period, including his Gulliver Jones of Mars chapters and The Jungle Book adaptation (with P. Craig Russell) from 2007, plus numerous covers.

From the pages of Dell's "Four Color" series comes their entire run of Prince Valiant comics, including the movie adaptation (starring Robert Wagner as Val) and the six new adventures created by the team of writer Paul S. Newman and artist Bob Fujitani. These stories have been fully restored with new coloring and feature a comparable style and scope to that of creator Hal Foster.
