Tomorrow is it. The end of the Painted Pelican Antique Shop in Grayland. I am sad but am so happy to see so many of you who have supported me come to say goodbye to my beloved building and my store. I will be open tomorrow from 10 am to 3 pm only. And then I will be packing up everything and I will say goodbye to June. I will be leaving her a rug so she can continue dancing her little heart away.

Funny thing happened today. A friend was helping me finish setting up for the end of the decade of The Painted Pelican Antique Shop 3 day clearance sale. Yep - it has actually been a few weeks over 10 years since Joyce talked me into "try having a shop. It'll be fun." It has been fun. But today there was a surprise visitor. A process server from an attorney's office in Hoquiam hired by the owner's son who is now in charge. He handed me a Notice to Terminate Tenancy. He wanted to make it clear that if I fail to remove myself by the end of my lease - June 18th - I will be subject to eviction and further legal fees. LOL!!! Makes me wonder why he did this. Never late on payments. Never any problems with since this man took over except with his malicious realtor who doesn't understand what a "required 48-hour notice for showing" means. Hope it doesn't sit on the market again for another six years when she was the listing agent before. Would love to see it back in business again.
