October gave us another beautiful day at The Uncommon Ranch, ending with a sunset that stopped us in our tracks. Golden skies stretched over the lavender fields as the last light of the day settled across the Ranch. There’s something special about autumn in Northern Michigan—the quiet beauty, the changing seasons, and those moments that remind us to slow down and simply take it all in. 🍂🧡

Our Hearts Are With The Farmers Creamery

Yesterday, a devastating fire consumed The Farmers Creamery, destroying the building that housed their Amish operations and retail store.

For us at Uncommon Ranch, this hits close to home. We proudly serve The Farmers Creamery milk in our café—not simply because it is local, but because we believe in what it represents: quality, hard work, tradition, and a community committed to nourishing its neighbors.

Yesterday was about saving what could be saved. And, in the midst of tremendous loss, it was also about community. People rallied around these farmers, working together to make sure they had somewhere to take and sell their milk today. That response says so much about the community behind The Farmers Creamery.

Today is their day of rest. Tomorrow, the Amish community will come together, regroup, and begin determining the path forward.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the farmers, families and entire Farmers Creamery community.

Buildings can be lost in a matter of hours. But the people, their knowledge, their work ethic, their faith and the community surrounding them remain.

From all of us at Uncommon Ranch, we support our neighbors at The Farmers Creamery as they begin the journey forward.

SOLD | Michigan Memories — Dan Feldhauser

Some pieces don’t simply catch your eye. They speak to you.

Michigan Memories, a remarkable graphite work by award-winning Michigan artist Dan Feldhauser, is SOLD and headed to its new home with a collector from Northville, Michigan, who works in the automotive industry.

His reaction said it all:

“It just spoke to me—I had to take it home.”

We understand why.

An old Michigan farmhouse. A weathered work truck—its International Harvester heritage still visible. Grass growing high around something that once worked hard and traveled many miles.

You can’t help but wonder about the stories held in this scene. Who lived in that farmhouse? Where did that truck travel? What did it haul? How many early mornings, long days, Michigan winters and changing seasons did it see?

Perhaps that is what makes Michigan Memories so compelling. Dan captures more than a place or an old truck—he captures the history, work and journeys that become part of the landscape we call home.

And now, this piece begins another journey of its own.
