Well the weather sure feels like it, but we won’t be fooled! We all know cold weather and possibly more snow will return ❄️

Alas, the long awaited Wine Knows Tasting has been rescheduled for Friday, March 13th at Antioch Fine Wine and Liquors from 6pm-8:30pm.
We hope to see everyone there!

Let’s celebrate each other’s company while tasting our old favorite wines and, of course, new wine selections from our great group of Wine Reps. And, Spring will be here before we know it.

Greetings my Fellow Winos,
Due to the dangerously cold temperatures forecasted for tomorrow the Wine Knows Tasting scheduled for tomorrow at Antioch Fine Wine and Spirits will be postponed on a warmer date.
Geesh, We hoped for no snow but I didn’t think of mentioning no bitter cold 🧊 temps too. 🤦🏼‍♀️
We want everybody safe and cozy. The store will be open if your throat is parched and you need some thirst quenching.
Larry and Scott would greet you with open arms.
So keep your 👀 on our next Facebook announcement.

Greetings and Happy New Year to all us Winos!
May this new year bring everyone peace, hope, love and continued health and prosperity.
It’s been a busy season so rest up so you may attend another exclusive Wine Knows Tasting at Antioch Wines and Liquors. Larry and Scott have been so kind to us regarding arranging our tastings.
(I think they have fun too).

The Tasting has been scheduled for Friday, January 23rd, 2026 between 6:00pm - 8:30pm.
There will be several of our favorite pourers present. We will get to visit with them and also visit with each other. We are looking forward to seeing all of you there.
I know it’s ’Dry January’ but us Winos don’t bother with that. (Do We?!?)
But, hopefully the weather will be cooperating with us in making it a ‘Dry January’.

American Forests planted trees in memory of Phil in south central Oregon, to replenish a forest that had been damaged by fire. While we can all agree that Phil would have preferred vines to be planted in his honor, trees are probably the next best thing, especially if they're near southern Oregon wine country...

Greetings My Fellow Winos!

Now that the Wine Knows Final Close Out Sale (WKFCOS) is over, we would like to take a breath and share a few thoughts (these old winos need a break?!).

First of all, thank you for a truly overwhelming response to our final event. The opening queue went past Lovely Thai and the checkout line for both registers wrapped around the interior of the store. We have had some darn good crowds in the past but this was record-breaking!

Second of all, in our recent endeavors, we met Tom and Stacey Dorow, the owners of another small, family-owned wine shop in Libertyville called Wine and Spirit Warehouse. They are super nice people who use the same wine reps, so, you know, you just might find something (try it, you’ll like it)! When you go there, tell them you recognize the “Wine Tasting Today” sign in the window so they know you are a discerning customer with good taste (o brother…).

Third of all, we have spent hundreds—if not thousands—of days working at the store and yet that was still not enough time to get a true picture of the impact Phil Vino had on his customers (uh oh!!). SO MANY people shared with us their feelings and personal stories. It was heartwarming to realize how truly loved the man was (we hope he heard that!!).

Fourth of all, we, too, have been lucky enough to have made some deep friendships with you that will last far beyond today. While it is inevitable that we may never see some of you again it is equally inevitable that you will remain forever in our hearts.

P.S. While we cannot begin to count the offers of help over the past days, we would be remiss not to thank ALL who have been instrumental in directly helping us through this challenging time. Congratulations on making it to the Wine Knows Hall of Fame (we were going to have an award but it would have to be called the “Winey”—or is it "Whiney??!!" Haha!!).

Because we focused on small family owned wineries; something impossible for a large box store chain! Literally every bottle in Wine Knows was personally curated by the late great Phil Vino. (I heard that!!)

Despite record sales we (still!) have some of these soon to be impossible to find wines left! Come one come all to Wine Knows Final Close Out Sale (WKFCOS) this Saturday and Sunday where EVERY BOTTLE LEFT is selling for a ridiculously low 10$!! TAX INCLUDED!!!

Of course, one of my favorite old sayings is “From the time you’re born until you ride in the hearse, there’s nothing so bad that it can’t get worse!” It’s actually a more positive saying then it appears. When you think you’ve got it bad, just look at a neighbor or co-worker. Things aren’t as bad as it seems. Keep smiling & stay healthy!
