TODAY'S REBEL REMINDER: Keep the Promise You Made to Yourself

A little encouragement. A little perspective. A reminder to keep going.

Remember that version of you who decided things were going to change?

The one who promised to try again. To stop settling. To create something. To chase the thing that scared you. To build a different life. To finally choose yourself.

Don't abandon that person just because the road got harder than you expected.

Progress isn't always loud. Sometimes it's simply waking up and choosing, one more time, not to quit on yourself.

You don't have to have the whole road figured out today.

Just keep the promise.

One decision. One day. One step at a time. ❤️

And if you've stumbled along the way? Good. You're human. Get back up and keep moving.

What's one promise you've made to yourself that you're determined to keep?

Apparently My Art Has to Pass the P***y Approval Process.

There I was, sitting on the floor by the printer, laptop in front of me, getting ready to record a perfectly respectable video.

I previously printed out a little seahorse reference so I could sketch it. P***y took one look at it and apparently thought:

"Absolutely not. This is garbage."

And then SHE STARTED EATING IT. 😂

Not casually walked across it. ATE. MY. REFERENCE.

Apparently my orange art critic has decided that if a design doesn't meet her creative standards, it gets immediately destroyed—and possibly digested.

So if you never see the seahorse painting, just know that P***y rejected the concept during pre-production. 🐱

P***y: 1
Seahorse: 0
Me trying to get anything accomplished around here: still 0

Today’s Rebel Reminder

A little art. A little encouragement. A little reminder you’re not alone...

You don’t have to see the whole path to know you’re moving forward.

Some seasons of life come with clear directions. Others hand you a winding trail, a distant mountain and absolutely no idea what’s around the next bend.

Keep walking anyway.

You’re allowed to change direction. You’re allowed to stop and catch your breath.

You’re allowed to outgrow places, people, plans, and even versions of yourself that once felt like home.

Progress doesn’t always look impressive. Sometimes it’s simply choosing not to turn around.

You don’t need to have the entire journey figured out today.

Just take the next step. ❤️

Behold... a perfectly innocent canvas that has absolutely no idea what's about to happen to it. 😂🎨

Technically, she's not blank anymore. I threw down a little color for the base, so now we're officially in that dangerous stage where I stare at it for a while and convince myself I have a plan.

Do I actually have a plan? Sure..Will the paint respect that plan? Tbd

Right now it's just a blue canvas full of possibilities... but I've got something pretty cool in mind for this one.

Let's see whether what ends up on the canvas looks anything like what's currently living in my head. 😂

Any guesses what I'm about to turn this into? 👀

🧪🎨 THIS WAS ONLY A TEST.

I repeat... A TEST. 😂

First attempt at creating a seahorse using a cell activator swipe and apparently the paint did not understand the assignment was supposed to be practice.

Those CELLS!! 😍

I went into this fully prepared for something that looked less like a seahorse and more like an unfortunate aquatic crime scene... but IT WORKED.

Now I've created a problem because the test turned out well enough that I'm ridiculously excited to do the real one.

Consider this little guy the prototype. The official seahorse is coming next... and I've already set my expectations dangerously high. 🎨🌊
Stay tuned. Seahorse 2.0 is happening.

These paintings aren't finished, yet. I just wanted some opinions. I used the same paints/colors on each, just a different method.

So... which is your favorite so far?

Artists... do you ever feel like you're creating content more than you're creating art? Have we started measuring creativity by views instead of the work itself?

You know... I'm an artist.

Not a content creator who happens to make art -an artist who also has to create content.

There's a difference.

People see a 30-second reel and think that's the work. They don't see the hours of creating, experimenting, failing, restarting and pouring yourself into something new.

But when the art is done...the work isn't. Now it's cameras, editing, captions, thumbnails, hashtags, posting and keeping up with changing algorithms and much more.

I'm grateful, though. Social media lets me share my work with people I’d never reach otherwise.

However, I never confuse what I do with why I do it. I don’t create BECAUSE of social media. Social media is just how I share.

The art comes first, the camera is just invited in.

Because at the end of the day...

I'm an artist and I always will be.

People often see the finished peice of art or a short video and think that's the whole story.

What they don't see are the hours of experimenting, the failed attempts, the scraped canvases, the cleanup, the learning, and the quiet moments in the studio.

Creating isn't always easy.

It isn't always convenient, but there's something about watching an idea come to life with your own two hands that makes every minute worth it.

At the end of the day, I don't create because it's easy...

I create because I love it. ❤️🎨
