Theramics (Therapy with ceramic) Hello! The moment I touched clay, I was hooked!

I'm a French artist who’s been calling Northeast Wisconsin home for the past decade. Although my formal training is in engineering and my real job is in real estate, my true passion lies in the world of art. I come from a deeply artistic family in France, and after exploring various artistic avenues over the years, I discovered pottery three years ago.

I love using doilies for texture!!! But I love it even more on mugs! It is not easy to add texture on mugs that are made on a wheel and this technique is awesome. I do slightly sand the texture down when bone dry to avoid sharp edges and apply a glaze on it too so that it is not rough while holding the mug.

If you ever tried the frozen pond technique using Running Hot Chowder, you will know that it is very time consuming...but so pretty! So I thought I could try using Running hot chowder but in between two dipped glazes and I'm so excited! It did not take me that long to do and the result is absolutely gorgeous!

Today I had fun texturing a few of my little pots using random objects that I found throughout the studio. And I'm not disappointed. It took me a little bit to figure them out so ignore the fact that it's not completely aligned!

Which one do you prefer?

I will show the final results once glazed when I have them.
