The String Instrument Workshop will be closed this weekend (July 25th and 26th) for family business.

A bit of a larger update from the workshop. A few things are shuffling around in the lives of our luthiers, and as such the shop will be making some changes to accommodate the shuffle.

As a prelude to all of these changes, we will be closed for a brief period from this Thursday, May 21st, through Saturday, May 23rd. This short break will be our reset period, hopefully allowing us to hit the ground running upon our return.

Secondly, following this break, we will be making an adjustment to our pricing. A new pricing list will be available on our website, www.stringinstrumentworkshop.com, and upon request from our luthiers. All work brought in or quoted before May 21st, 2026, will be honored at the old shop rate.

Lastly, our hours are going to be slightly adjusted. The new hours will be as follows:
Monday - Friday: 8am to 5pm
Saturday and Sunday: 8am to 12pm
After-hours pickup and dropoff will be available as always by appointment.

We thank you for your patience with these changes, and we look forward to continuing to spend this next chapter of our lives with you!

The luthiers have unfortunately come down with the crud. Hoping for a speedy recovery, but for today, the workshop is closed. Stay safe, keep your snowblowers fueled and your chocolate hot, and we'll see you after some rest!
