The past 5 days Laken has committed himself to making hundreds of new creations for Art on the Walk tomorrow at Red White Buffalo in Green River.

Zombie Fish, Mushroom Ring Holders and Keychains, Sculpted Wyoming Trinket Dishes and Frogs, One of a Kind Sketch Books, and Harry Potter Magnets.

He can’t wait to see you there!

My 8 year old son has an internal desire to provide something to any homeless person he sees. This urge was overwhelming for me when I was pregnant with him. Every time I went to the midwife in SLC I would see a homeless person on the exit to her office.

I started to create and print out cards with beautiful art and inspirational quotes. And a question about what inspired them (in my mind I called these “Food for Thought” cards). I bought tiny pencils, grocery store gift cards, and dog bones to place in the envelopes with the cards and when I’d pull up to the intersection I would give an envelope to the person on the corner.

I saw someone on the corner last week and purchased some things at the store but when I came out he was gone. Today Laken saw someone in the shade behind one of the stores, not looking for a handout, but Laken insisted we give him something. I still had the jerky, peanuts, candies and water I purchased previously and so we stopped and gave them to this man.

The man asked if he could give Laken a gift. It turned out he made these beautiful little crosses and let Laken choose the one he liked best. The man was excited to share his gift and a smile. There was connection, gratitude, and that spark of love for humanity in this interaction.

I am so grateful for Laken’s compassion, empathy, humility, and love for others.

Last minute gift shopping at Red White Buffalo. Laken stocked some new items. Harry Potter Journals, Giant Zombie Fish Carving, and Zombie Fish Ornaments. A unique present for someone special. 🐟 🧟‍♂️💖

I could not be more proud of Laken for taking the time to create this Spawning Dead Zombie Fish display and asked if he could use Canva to make his signs. With just a little help printing and laminating he created this to show off his artwork at Red White Buffalo. Last time we checked he had sold over a dozen pieces. He loves painting rocks and all things scary. Go check out his artwork and purchase a piece to take home with you.

Today is Mother’s Day. Some of you may be so busy you have forgotten today is an extraordinarily special day. I invite you to take a quiet moment and remember for yourself the thing for which you have been praying and longing to come to fruition. Write it down.

Now ask yourself have I turned away help, money, a simple compliment when it was offered? In a time of utter frustration, anxiety, exhaustion, or pain have I not allowed someone to fulfill that prayer?

What if we looked at turning away this generosity from someone as a big FU to the Universe or God. People are, angels on earth, are they not? The ones who come into our life to answer many of those prayers. As we accept help, money, love, time, in our time of need it allows us to give back in a similar way during another’s time of need.

If you just gave the Universe the BIG BIRD please be aware the next time you are offered help in some way it is time to accept. Why?

1) Because you are worthy in every way.

2) Because you deserve to be safe, healthy, loved, and at peace.

3) And MOST IMPORTANTLY because it validates the truth of the love, gratitude, and friendship to the person who is offering it to you! It means their investment in you, matters to you. It means their opinion of how worthy they believe you to be, matters to you. And you will accept with loving gratitude because you asked, and asked, and asked for it. It is the person offering’s greatest joy to see you safe, healthy, and at peace.

Now it’s time to say “Yes, thank you. I appreciate it so much.” And move on to receive the next thing the Universe desires to gift you until you are in a position to pay it forward.

There is someone praying for help right this very moment. You are the answer to that prayer.

As moms we do everything for everyone all the time without consideration for our needs. Today I wish you the magic of your perception of, receiving from others, to have changed into a blinding aha moment. May you graciously allow, with love, everything you have been longing receive. ☕️💖☀️
