One of my favorites! Benrus…
Benrus was founded in New York City in 1921 by three Romanian immigrant brothers: Benjamin, Oscar, and Ralph Lazrus. The name itself is a portmanteau of Benjamin lazrus. Operating out of Manhattan's Hippodrome Building, the brothers established a smart business model: they imported high-quality mechanical movements from La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, and housed them in cases manufactured domestically in Waterbury, Connecticut.
