A new Community Voices display from Casa Azul of Greensboro opens this Saturday 9/26!
Join us at 5:30 pm for a Quinceañera dress fashion show, performances, and a community conversation panel at the Greensboro History Museum. The discussion will explore the significance of the Quince in Latino culture in Greensboro and beyond. Local experts taking part include: Marisa González (Educational Developer, University Teaching and Learning Commons, and Adjunct Lecturer, Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at UNCG), Liliana Lira-River (UNCG professor and owner of Lily & Co Beauty Lounge), Dr. Yuliana Rodriguez (Clinical Associate Professor in the Human Development and Family Science program within the School of Education at UNC-Chapel Hill), and Adamarys Avalos (Co-owner of J&A Choreography).
This program is co-organized with Casa Azul of Greensboro. The arts and culture organization is turning 15 this year, and part of the festivities include creating this Community Voices display in the museum lobby that will be on view through October. The event is free and refreshments will be served.
