JUST ADDED! A French double bass bow by Netherlands bow maker, Henk te Hietbrink. This bow is a product of the New Dutch School which values bows much longer and heavier than traditional proportions. It features an octagonal ironwood stick paired with a silver tip plate, silver winding, and black leather grip. The frog is ebony mounted in silver, with silver slide, and silver/ebony button. A massive bow that will power the whole section - not for the faint of heart!! 257g

A very clean 2015 Liberty Belle by Lemur Music that includes a complete FlyAway package! This 3/4 hybrid features a carved spruce top paired with a laminate flatback, laminate ribs, and a maple neck. Fittings are ebony, and it carries a maple bridge, Rubner tuning machines, and a Fishman Full Circle pickup. The FlyAway package includes a removable neck, secured soundpost, and a lightweight flight case. For the performer who travels frequently, and values light weight and durability, this is an ideal package - you can gig tonight!

New Liberty Belle basses currently sell for $8900 WITHOUT a case, so at $7800 this package won’t last long!

JUST ADDED! A 3/4 size 5-string made c.1930s in Markneukirchen, Germany and likely originally exported as a G.A. Pfretzschner. A fully-carved instrument that features a spruce top paired with a maple round back, maple ribs, and a maple neck. These well-made 5-string basses can be difficult to find in the United States, in this price range, and especially one that sounds this good... if you’ve been in the market for a German 5-string of VERY manageable proportions, don’t sleep on this one!

The armchair experts were out in full force after our last reel featuring this c.1930 Pfretzschner aluminum bass…

For those of you that kindly asked how the bass sounds, here is a clip of US Navy bassist, Will Ledbetter taking it for a spin. The Pfretzschner version utilized wooden internal components, such as a spruce bassbar, end block and neck block, corner blocks, back brace, and a traditional maple neck, so they sound much better than expected!
