An update on Blain, Ashlee, and Brentlee.
Today we spent the day at our final Maternal Fetal Medicine and Pediatric Cardiology appointments before Brentlee’s arrival. We got our last look at his heart and checked on his growth. Aside from his heart condition, he is doing exactly what he needs to be doing and continues to grow beautifully.
His growth scan looked great, and he’s measuring right on track with no concerns. Our big boy is already estimated to weigh 7 pounds, 14 ounces! 💙
One of the most special parts of today was having the team draw us a picture and walk us through his heart one last time. Looking back to when we first received his diagnosis in February, there was a lot of uncertainty and fear. Today felt different. They explained that Brentlee has continued to grow, and some of what they see now looks just a little better than it did months ago. While his heart condition is still complex, his growth and development have given his team even more hope and confidence as they look ahead to the surgeries he’ll need in the future.
We also got to tour Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, the NICU, and the PICU today. Seeing where we’ll be welcoming Brentlee into the world and where he’ll receive his care made everything feel a little more real. While it’s not the journey we imagined, it brought some comfort to see the places and meet some of the people who will be caring for our boy.
We’re still waiting on the official call with our induction date, but we should hear something within the next few days. The countdown is officially on.
Please continue to keep Brentlee, our family, and his medical team in your prayers as we prepare for his arrival and the journey ahead. We are incredibly grateful for the love, support, and prayers that have carried us this far. 💙👶
