You don't see an Elkhart 8D in this great of condition for sale very often, and especially from the 500,000 series era! This "closet find" horn was made in the mid 1950s and is certainly one of the last "survivor" 500,000 series Elkharts. This horn is an amazing player, and is exactly what you would want from a classic Conn 8D. It plays like the golden era of Kruspe horns, with a big, velvety tone, beautiful slurs, and an even sound in all registers. The low register on this horn is amazing, the response is quick, the high register sings, and the projection is clear. What a great professional horn this is!
