☀️ It’s getting hot out there! As the temperature rises, please remember that it only takes a few minutes for a car to become dangerously hot—even with the windows cracked. 🌡️
Your pets have fur coats that keep them warm, and they can overheat very quickly in a parked car. The safest place for your furry friends is at home! 🐶🐱

🐾 Dr. Linda Kuhn’s Pet Safety Tips: Sunscreen Awareness! ☀️

It’s getting beautiful outside, but before you and your furry friends head out to enjoy the sunshine, Dr. Linda Kuhn has a quick safety reminder for all our pet parents! 🐶🐱

Did you know that many sunscreens (like the one Dr. Linda uses!) contain zinc? While it's great for protecting our skin, zinc is actually poisonous to dogs and cats. To keep your pets safe this spring:

• 🚫 Don't let them lick: Ensure they don't lick sunscreen off your skin after you've applied it.
• 📦 Store it safely: Make sure the bottle is kept well out of reach—chewing on the container can be very dangerous!
• 💰 Watch for pennies & Desitin: Zinc is also found in these common household items, so keep a close eye on them around your pets.

At Bargain Boutique Thrift Shop, we love a great find, but nothing is more precious to us than our furry friends! With the snow piling up, we’re sharing some expert winter safety tips from Dr. Linda Kuhn to keep your pets cozy and protected. Staying "snow-smart" is easy if you remember to wipe down those paws after walks to clear away irritating salts and de-icers, and try to limit outdoor time since it's likely too cold for them if it's too cold for your favorite thrifted coat.
