When you reach into your drawer or closet, slip on Grandmother's old gloves and Auntie's scarf. Pair it with that dress you wore in high school that always made you feel free. Suddenly, you are visiting with your loved ones and the younger version of yourself. Just by getting dressed, you have enlisted support and love by wearing things that they have worn or that you remind you of them. Instead of mere mortal garments, your clothing becomes a talisman or prayer cloth or conversation.

We were asked to create outfits to express the elements. Vulcanalia is put on by Artistry Workshops and Gallery once a year and it's a happening worth participating in. Everyone did a fantastic job! The designers, volunteers, performers, models...everyone!
