We Are Officially Closed!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to support our sale this weekend! We had an incredible turnout, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of those who helped organize and prepare, and the generosity of everyone who came to shop.

This was all for our dear friend Wendy, and we know she would be so proud of what’s been accomplished. Wendy’s love for this community was unmatched, and the outpouring of love and support from all of you this weekend truly reflects her spirit.

As we shared before, donations and proceeds from this sale will go directly to the family of Wendy, Isaiah and Vivian

Once again, thank you to each and every one of you for your kindness and support.
Together, we’ve honored Wendy
in a way she would have cherished.

Dear customers and friends, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that The House Collective shop will not be reopening. We all know it wasn’t any item that made The House what it was, but instead, it was our beloved shop owner, Wendy, who lead the way in love, hospitality, creativity, hope and inspiration.

Along with the great grief that comes with losing loved ones, the family is also tasked with taking on the work that is left behind. Due to the nature of the store, the family will have to make the simplest decisions possible, in a very complex scenario. We ask that you respect their very difficult decisions. This is not something anyone should have to face, so to allow for the grieving process, we ask our customers to let the family make decisions in private to preserve their peace. This is something they need time to do together within their family.

To make decisions easier on the family, if you have items through vendor or consignment, that you must have back, please private message me, (Julia Hall), through The House Collective Messenger. We will make arrangements as necessary, but please know it must be done in a timely manner. Please make arrangements to pick up items by November 22nd.

Thank you to all who have come in to support the shop. We know many heartfelt conversations happened here. Please continue to shine that same light within our community.

It is with deep sorrow that we inform you that Wendy Medrano, owner of The House Collective, passed away on October 30th, along with her son Isaiah Arrington (18) and daughter Vivian Medrano (6), in a house fire.

If you've been to Wendy's shop before, you would have remembered her as a woman who lived with heart. She loved her customers and was quick to be a friend. She was always on the lookout to fill a need. Oftentimes, you would find Wendy giving you items and refusing payment, because she wanted you to know that you were loved and cared for. Wendy was an 'Iron sharpens Iron' kind of gal. You never left without being motivated to be better.

You may have also met her little 'Store Manager' Vivian (Squish). Vivian was an excellent host and even better sales lady. If Vivian asked if you would like to buy an item, and you looked into her big brown eyes, you would just need to get your wallet out, because there was no denying her sales pitch.

You may have even seen Isaiah, rallying his football buddies, to come and volunteer to do yard work for his mom.

A lot of love came from this shop.

We do not know the fate of The House Collective, as of now. After we go through the process of grieving these 3 special souls, we will move forward to the task of planning.

Good morning friends! What a beautiful day to get out of the house and explore. I’m going to start a new thing on Saturdays that I am going to call “Saturday Shout Outs” Please let us know what you’ve got going on. Garage sales, fundraisers, bake sales, lemonade stands, Fall festivals, or favorite stores…also, small business owners, please let us know what you’ve got going on. I try and mention this stuff when people come into the House but I don’t always know what’s going on. You can post in the comments each week when you see this picture. I’ll start (in the comments)
