As a Pokémon League Play Store and a game store, one of the first game spotlights is very near and dear to me personally.
My first handheld/ game in general was Pokémon Crystal. It was the “complete” game to Generation 2’s Gold and Silver, and it introduced many franchise firsts and mainstays, including a female protagonist, animated sprites, held items, a deeper storyline, baby pokemon, day and night, daily events, and more.
It even let you trade with the original Red and Blue games through the “Time Machine” function.
Ken Sugimori absolutely killed the artwork, and the very small production team managed to accomplish a ton in a short amount of time.The OST was pretty freaking sweet for the time. And
