Looking for a colorful, low-maintenance addition to the garden? Echinacea ‘Cheyenne Spirit’ brings a whole mix of sunset shades, from rich reds and oranges to purples, yellows, creams, and whites.

Even better, these drought-tolerant coneflowers keep the color coming from summer well into fall. They’re also a favorite with pollinators, making them a great choice for a sunny spot in the garden.

Plant once, enjoy the color for months.

Summer might still be in full swing, but a little fall color is already starting to sneak into the garden. From changing leaves to blooms that bring those warm autumn tones, it’s a reminder that the seasons are always shifting.

And while we’re enjoying those first hints of fall, the bees are still busy doing their thing. Keep those pollinator-friendly plants blooming and give them a reason to stick around a little longer.

It’s one of our favorite times in the garden, when summer is still here but fall is starting to make an appearance.

Want summer color that brings the hummingbirds with it? Hardy fuchsias are a great choice. Their long-lasting blooms add plenty of color to the garden, especially in shady spots where they really shine.

Keep them watered and plant them in well-draining soil, and you’ll have blooms to enjoy throughout the summer.

Prayer plants are an easy one to add to your houseplant collection. They like bright, indirect light, evenly moist soil, and a little extra humidity.

Then, when evening rolls around, something pretty cool happens. Their leaves fold upward, almost like little hands in prayer. This natural movement is called nyctinasty and helps the plant conserve moisture overnight.

We love a plant with a little personality.

Who says the color show ends after spring? Redbuds bring bold foliage to the landscape all summer long, with colors ranging from bright gold to rich purple and everything in between.

A few of our favorites:
• Flame Thrower: Leaves emerge red, then transition to orange and yellow, giving you all three colors at once.
• Carolina Sweetheart: Spring starts with pink foliage, followed by green and white leaves, while new summer growth emerges deep purple.
• Black Pearl: The darkest black-purple foliage we've seen, holding its rich color all season.
• Hearts of Gold: Bright golden leaves mature to chartreuse, making it one of our favorite gold-leafed redbuds for the Pacific Northwest.

Which one is your favorite?

If you're looking for a houseplant that's easy to care for, you really can't go wrong with a Dracaena.

These popular plants come in all kinds of shapes, sizes, and colors, including Snake Plants, Marginatas, and Warneckiis. They're all part of the Dracaena family, making them some of the most versatile houseplants you can bring home.

They do best in low to bright indirect light and prefer to dry out a bit between waterings, so they're perfect if you don't want a high-maintenance plant.

💧 Snake Plants: Let the top 2–3 inches of soil dry before watering.
💧 Other Dracaenas: Let the top 1–2 inches of soil dry before watering.

Which Dracaena is your favorite?
