Jack's up at D-A with his troop for the weekend. He packed and set up with minimal supervision. Prepping for high adventure in a couple years.

Benny's turn is next week. We're going to Fort Miakonda in Ohio.

Please help support Jack and his Troop by purchasing holiday greens. Sherwood Forest has an excellent catalog of wreaths and garlands. I have been buying our entryway greens through them long before Jack was selling them and I can attest that they are of great quality.

They ship anywhere in the US (look for "Direct Delivery Products"). If you are local, you can save by choosing from the items under "Local Distribution".

Jack's goal is to sell $350 worth. That will ensure he does not have to pay more dues for the year. Anything past his goal, he will earn a commission on.

All payments will be collected by Jack either by cash or check (made out to Jack). We also accept Paypal, Venmo, Zelle, and CashApp.

Thank you so much!

Local Distribution items are delivered to the fundraising group and distributed locally. Make sure you live near the group to receive these items. If you have any questions regarding your location, please contact the group lead.

It's that time of year again... Fall fundraisers! Benny is selling popcorn for Cub Scout Pack 85 - Grosse Pointe

Please help out his Pack by buying some popcorn. You can either order directly online (link in comments) and have it shipped or if you don't love too far away, you can place an order with Benny and we'll deliver (see items in comments).

Thanks!

First of 2 back to back campouts. This weekend is with Jack in Brighton. What's worse than setting up a tent in the rain? Sharing that tent with your gassy son who described the smell as "hot dog water". 🤮

Sunny and 70 tomorrow for shooting and hiking.

Pinewood Derby came and went. It didn't bring home 3 trophies like last year, but he managed to take home fastest in den 2 years in a row. Design was all him. This year we printed up the decals on adhesive label paper. Applied them after a few coats of flat black and then covered it all with a few coats of hi-gloss clear.

It's been a while since I've kept everyone up to date. Here's a quick rundown:
1) In the fall, we were fortunate that Benny's pack and Jack's troop shared a campsite together at D-Bar-A Scout Ranch . I spent most of my time with Benny, but was able to keep an eye on Jack for his first outing as a Boy Scout.
2)Benny has earned a few belt loops: Games Tigers Play and Tigers in the Wild. He'll earn Tiger Bites this week.
3) Jack earned his first rank (Scout) last week and he's well on his way to Tenderfoot.
4) Jack earned service hours by being a part of the library's Teen Advisory Council. Lauren was listening in on the zoom and said he had a lot of great input.
4) Pinewood Derby is in less than 2 weeks (so long as I can secure a track for the pack). Will Benny take home another trophy??
5) Jack has his next camp outing at D Bar A in 2 weeks.

I probably have a ton of pictures that I should share as well.

Yours in Scouting

Jack's Troop and Benny's Pack are both underway with their fundraising. I'll post a link later for Trails End Popcorn Sales, but Jack's Troop does something different.. Holiday Greens from Sherwood Forest.

Take a look at the inventory and you can either order through Jack or direct from his website. He has a goal of $350 to cover his yearly expenses.

I will say that we have been ordering our front door wreath and cedar garland from a fellow scout for the past 3 years and have been very satisfied with the product. So take a look and maybe help support us!

Now it's official. Jack crossed over last Summer from Cub Scouts into Boy Scouts. He attended his first meeting with Troop 96 last Monday.

Yesterday we headed down to the Scout Shop to pickup his new insignia and handbook. He even has his first community service today.

So starts another year of scouting, so does another year of selling popcorn.

Except this year, due to the pandemic, Jack and Benny won't be in front of Trader Joe's or Kroger. And that's a HUGE hit to their sales. These popcorn sales and donations are what keeps our pack going. Badges, facility rentals, supplies, community service projects are all possible only because we sell popcorn. Jack and Benny have a goal to sell $500 worth of popcorn together. That's $170 profit to support their pack and another $170 profit to support the Michigan Council.

Can you help the boys support the pack that supports them in so many ways?

Here's how you can help Jack and Benny "Fund their Adventure"...

1) Buy popcorn directly online by clicking the "Shop Now" button. It will be shipped immediately anywhere in the US.

2) Message me with your order and I will make one large order that will be available by Thanksgiving. If you live within 30 minutes of us, we will drop it off to you!

3) Consider donating over Venmo () or FB.
