The Spyderco Military REC Exclusive 👀

This one has been a long time coming. 🥑

We’ve worked our way through quite a few Spyderco models with the REC Exclusive treatment over the years, but there was one pretty important piece of the family still missing.

The original Spyderco Military.

Introduced back in 1996, the Military is the knife that eventually led to the Para Military, PM2 and the rest of that family we all know today. And for this one, we wanted the original—not the Military 2.
There’s something pretty cool about finally seeing our OD Green/FDE combination on one of the designs that helped define Spyderco.

The Spyderco Military REC Exclusive drops Thursday, September 10 at 11 AM ET exclusively at River’s Edge Cutlery.

Who has been waiting for us to finally do the Millie?

Heretic went a little different with the new Martyr Tanto.

Instead of another auto or OTF, this one is a manual button-lock folder built around a lightweight glass-packed polymer chassis. You still get a full-size 3.5” CPM MagnaCut tanto blade, but the whole knife comes in just under 4 ounces, which makes it a lot easier to carry than the size might suggest.

We’ve got two versions dropping today:

• Stonewash MagnaCut
• Bronze Stonewash MagnaCut

Both use the black polymer chassis, ambidextrous tip-up clip, and are made in the USA.

Honestly, if you’ve liked Heretic but wanted something manual, lighter, and a little easier to live with every day, the Martyr makes a lot of sense.

Both versions drop TODAY at 12PM ET at River’s Edge Cutlery.

🇺🇸 Sebenza Sunday — nearly 40 years of refinement.
We ran a spotlight in our email newsletter today focusing on the Sebenza from CRK, so why not cap off this Sunday evening with a little shorter coverage. We have several different configurations in stock right here at River’s Edge Cutlery. ⬇️

The Sebenza story traces back to 1987, and what’s always made the design interesting is how Chris Reeve Knives has continued to evolve it without losing sight of the original idea.

From those early designs to the Original Sebenza, the Regular and Classic, and eventually the hugely influential Sebenza 21, CRK has spent decades refining the platform rather than constantly reinventing it. The Sebenza 25 explored some more substantial changes — including the ceramic ball lock interface — while many of those ideas helped shape the knives that followed.

Then in 2019, the Sebenza 31 arrived as the next iteration of the 21. Changes like the ceramic ball lock interface, offset pocket clip, redesigned inlays and tighter machining processes moved the design forward while keeping it immediately recognizable as a Sebenza.

The knives pictured here bring that story right up to the present: the Large and Small Sebenza 31 Forever Flag CGG Tanto. The Tanto joined the Sebenza 31 lineup in 2022, with the Forever Flag configuration offered right alongside it.

Nearly four decades later, the basic philosophy still feels familiar.

The Sebenza hasn’t stayed relevant by chasing every new trend.

It’s stayed relevant because Chris Reeve Knives keeps refining a design that already worked.

Which one are you taking — Large or Small?

Spyderco Jess Horn — old-school Spyderco, upgraded in all the right places.

The C38 Jess Horn goes back to the late ’90s, and Spyderco has revisited the design a few times over the years. This Distributor Exclusive might be one of the coolest versions yet.

You’re getting a 3.19” satin CPM Cru-Wear blade, smooth carbon fiber, a back lock, and a total weight of just 2.5 ounces. It still has that slim, clean Jess Horn look, but Cru-Wear and carbon fiber bring it right into the modern collector world.

And that’s really the appeal here — this isn’t another new Spyderco pattern. It’s a piece of Spyderco history brought back with materials people actually want today.

Available now at River’s Edge Cutlery.

Would you carry this one, or is it going straight into the collection?

This isn’t the 0203 you normally see from Zero Tolerance.

The ZT 0203 Factory Special Series takes one of the bigger, harder-use folders in the current ZT lineup and gives it a material upgrade that changes the knife quite a bit.

Instead of the standard M4 and G10 setup, this one gets a 4” working-finish Böhler M390 blade and 3D-machined green canvas Micarta.

Underneath it is still the big 0203 build: DuraLock, thick steel liners, a full-length pivot bolt, 9.25” overall length, and 6.6 oz. ZT describes DuraLock as a hardened-steel crossbar that can be operated from either side, keeping this big folder fully ambidextrous.

But the part that makes this one worth stopping on is the designation on the box:

Factory Special Series.

REC was one of only around 15 dealers given the opportunity to offer this configuration, so this isn’t something we expect to just keep restocking like a regular catalog ZT.

Made in Tualatin, Oregon, with M390, Micarta, and one of ZT’s beefiest current platforms underneath it.

Zero Tolerance 0203GRM390 Factory Special — available now at River’s Edge Cutlery.

Would you take this M390/Micarta Factory Special over the standard M4 0203?

The new GiantMouse ACE Tipsy goes live today at 12PM ET.

What I like about this one is that GiantMouse didn’t treat “small” like a gimmick. You still get a button lock, bearing action, thumb-hole deployment and a genuinely usable little EDC folder, but it just happens to disappear in the pocket.

And then they gave us four pretty good ways to choose one:

Brass / Stonewash ELMAX
Titanium / Satin ELMAX
Green Canvas Micarta / Stonewash N690
Blue G10 / Satin N690

If I were buying one to collect, I’d probably be looking hard at the Ti or brass.

If I wanted one to actually throw in the pocket every day, the Micarta and G10 suddenly make a lot of sense.

GiantMouse ACE Tipsy — live TODAY at 12PM ET at River’s Edge Cutlery.

So which camp are you in:

Ti/Brass or Micarta/G10?

We have a small PDW drop happening today at 12pm ET right here at River’s Edge Cutlery.
We’ve got a small batch of PDW gear going live, and all three pieces hit a different part of the EDC setup.

• SPD Ti-BarT — Grade 5 titanium pry tool with a bottle opener, tank wrench, 1/4” bit socket, pocket clip, and lanyard hole.

• Ti-Micro Frag Pill Case — compact titanium capsule with an O-ring seal and PDW’s frag-style texture.

• Ti-Ball Chain — 30” titanium chain with titanium connectors, built for tags, capsules, and other small EDC pieces.

None of this is overcomplicated. It’s just well-made, useful titanium gear from a brand that has a pretty loyal following.

Limited quantities go live TODAY at Noon ET at River’s Edge Cutlery.

If PDW is your thing, which one are you going after first?

We are getting much closer! 🥑Clue: It’s one we haven’t done before! 🥑

The CRKT Gravitic Flip delivers a throwback feel with it’s manual OTF deployment! Incredibly lightweight thanks to the GRN handle, it uses magnets to snap back shut after the ‘flip’. A double edge 3.18” 5Cr13MoV blade is perfectly capable of doing some tasks in this platform, all at a great price point.

It’s incredibly fun figuring this one out as well 🤣 check them out today at River’s Edge Cutlery.

Prometheus Design Werx drops Wednesday at 12PM ET at REC — and this one’s limited.

The main attraction is the SPD Ti-BarT, a Grade 5 titanium pry tool with a bottle opener, tank wrench, 1/4” bit socket, and titanium pocket clip packed into a 5” / 1.8 oz setup.

Also landing:

• Ti-Micro Frag Pill Case
• 30” Ti-Ball Chain

Small batch, very PDW, and exactly the kind of EDC gear that tends to disappear fast.

Wednesday. Noon ET. River’s Edge Cutlery.
