Patio spruce up continues with the door makeover. This poor old door was crusty, beat up, and basically begging to be put out of its misery. Instead, I sanded, prepped it, and slapped on a coat of this gorgeous “jungle camouflage” paint by Behr.
Now, in a perfect world, I would’ve stripped this thing all the way down, refinished the wood, and let its natural beauty shine. And honestly? It would’ve looked STUNNING.
But unfortunately, I have zero interest in spending 47 hours stripping paint off an old door.
So here we are….Is it still a crappy old door? Absolutely.
Does it look significantly less crappy? I think so.
And that, my friends, is what we call a successful DIY.

Continually finding new things to build.

This time, I decided I needed a little more privacy on the patio—aka my new favorite spot at our house. So I built a half wall! I framed it out, added corrugated sheet metal to the top, and finished it off with a bar top and stools.

I LOVE the added privacy, and this little corner has quickly become one of my favorite spots on the patio. It feels like a cozy little outdoor bar now. 🍹

Just another piece of my patio spruce-up project that I’ve been slowly tackling all summer.

…it’s coming together, one project at a time.

A little outdoor kitchen progress update! 👏

The concrete countertops are officially in place… now I just need to seal them and hope I didn’t just create a giant future headache for myself. 😂

I also added a new shelf, which still needs to be stained, and hung a neon sign because apparently every outdoor kitchen needs a little unnecessary lighting. 😎✨

The next big project is tackling the patio pavement. It definitely needs some love, so I’m thinking a little paint and a few strategically placed rugs might be just what it needs to tie everything together.

Still a work in progress, but I’m really starting to see it come together. It’s come a LONG way from the janky patio I started with, and I’m pretty excited about where this is headed! 🤞

I thought patio blinds would be a simple privacy solution….the wind thought otherwise.
After repeatedly picking them up off the ground and reattaching them for the hundredth time, I finally gave up and built a horizontal slat wall out of deck boards instead. And unlike the blinds, this thing isn’t moving unless a tornado personally removes it.
Now I just need to decide on a stain color, find the perfect rug and accessories, and then sit out here pretending I don’t already have my next DIY project planned.
Officially my favorite place to hang out at home now.

Finally finished installing the new vinyl plank flooring in the RV… and wow did this project take WAY longer than I expected. I swear every single piece had to be cut because apparently RVs are built with zero straight lines.

My entire body is sore from crawling around on the floor for days, but honestly these floors were so worth it. The color looks SO much better with the overall aesthetic of the camper and completely changed the whole feel inside.

Even better… I got an amazing deal on them from an auction, which makes me love them even more. 😂 Nothing like a budget project that still ends up looking high end after enough pain and suffering.

Today’s RV project started as “let’s get a new couch” and quickly turned into an episode of Extreme RV Makeover: Emotional Breakdown Edition.

After fighting this thing for HOURS, I was officially one step away from giving up. I even took pictures to post the couch for sale because there was NO WAY this beast was fitting through the RV door. 😂

So naturally… we removed the entire sliding patio door.
Then removed the inside of the sleeper sofa because it weighed approximately the same as a midsize sedan.
Then somehow shoved the couch through the side of the RV like a bunch of raccoons trying to move a refrigerator.

Was it worth it? Absolutely.
Would I do it again? Ask me after my back recovers.

Trunk table glow-up in progress…
I mixed up my own chalky paint for this one in “Perfect Cream” and gave it a coat of shellac first to stop any bleed-through (she’s been through some things 😅). Used a little Vaseline trick to keep the hardware black but not too perfect — just how I like it.

It’s turning out so cozy and full of character… can’t wait to load it up with blankets! 🤍.

This old trunk table has officially entered its glow-up era! ✨ Sanded smooth, rocking some chunky new bun feet, and soon to be dressed in a crisp white coat. From tired to totally fab.
