Our family here at Double B will always be grateful for the love our community has shown us. Over the last 30 years you, our customers, have become part of our family. We are saddened that our business is permanently closed, but are continuing to trust in God's faithfulness and goodness.

Quick update over the last 2 years since Hurricane Helene changed our business overnight:

Joey and Rosalynne are officially retired and are enjoying their days serving their church and being with their grandbabies. Since October 2024 two sweet grandbabies have been added to the family: Walker Worth Burns (born December 2024) and Rylee Grace Dockins (born March 2026)

Joseph has accepted a new job with Southeast Restoration and spends his time working with others who have had their homes/businesses impacted by various situations outside of their control. It has given him such purpose to now be able to give back, and understand, when others are going through such devastating times. His wife, Samantha, is a stay at home mom to Carolina Rose (5) and Walker (1).

Savannah is currently working to get her PhD, is a trainer at a local gym, a professor at Faulkner University, as well as a mom to Emma Jo (3) and Rylee Grace. Her husband, John Logan, is now the Head Football Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Alabama Christian Academy in Montgomery, Alabama.

The plant farm will always be a part of the Burns family, and so will all of you. How loving and kind is our God to have given us something that was so heartbreaking to lose. Please continue to pray for our family in this new chapter, and we will be holding you close in prayer also.

We are still selling inventory for both landscapers and the public! Nandinas, Azaleas, blue eyed grass, succulents, maple trees, oak trees, and more! Give us a call today to schedule an appointment.
Here's how it works:
*We have one hour appointment slots.
*Once you arrive for your appointment time you will follow Lewin (in your vehicle!) down to our old wholesale area to see what we have remaining.
*He will then load you up, and you will head back up to the top to checkout with Rosalynne.

**Our retail is NOT open. If you go to the retail, no one will be there. It is still covered in trees from the hurricane.
**You will drive to the end of the gravel road and park by a mailbox (655 Shoffitt Road) and we will be with you!

Happy Easter from our family to yours! This year we got to spend Easter with our daughter, son in law, and grandbaby in Alabama! Such a special time being with family and celebrating our risen Savior.

Thank you WFXG FOX54 for speaking with one of our owners, Rosalynne, and getting an update on our farm. We estimate our inventory will last through the next 6 months, and then we will be closing. As we reach the end of another year, we cannot help but reflect on the past. While September brought with it one of most unexpected tragedies to hit our farm, it did not stifle our faith in God; rather, we believe, it strengthened it. Though Hurricane Helene took something from us that’s been in our family for over 30 years, we are grateful to be alive and to continue to help others walk a similar path to ours.

We recognize that we could not be writing this post if it wasn’t for all of the people who have helped us tread this arduous path—and will continue to aid us in the future. From our fellow church family across the states, neighbors, strangers, friends, and family, we extend our deepest gratitude toward each and every one of you. The letters, cards, supplies, gifts, texts, and phone calls have not gone unnoticed. And the prayers — oh, the prayers — we know those are what bolstered us when it felt like we couldn’t even see in front of us.

As we look to 2025, we are excited to announce Joe Burns’ new job with Southeast Restoration as an estimator. We know he will thrive in this new environment. As of now, we will continue to sell the inventory we have through appointment, and we ask that you continue to be patient with us as we navigate a new and unforeseen season of life.

Though 2024 ended differently than we would have ever planned or desired, we know, without a doubt, that our purpose in life has not changed. Our Lord will continue to be praised despite what happens around us. We feel similar to how the apostle Paul felt when he states: “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:11-13). Truly, we can have hope for tomorrow because of our Savior.

We pray that all of you have a year filled with joy and peace! May His blessings continue to remind you of the beauty of this life.
