It has been a minute since I have shared what I am up to. Today is the seven month anniversary of me selling my first piece of jewelry.
It was a redwood and tiger eye bracelet that I made for Courage, which broke within a week. A good lesson out of the gate and the learning has not stopped.
When I first started making jewelry, my inspirations, and intentions, were based around what attributes I would personally like to bless myself with:
Love, Wisdom, Peace, Protection, Resilience, Abundance, Courage
Overtime my inspiration shifted to a more spiritual and intellectual path, divinely inspired if you will.
My fascination with mankind’s use of materials for spiritual purposes, why certain materials were associated with divinity, used to build temples or idols, attributed with specific powers, has broaden my view of the Divine and is a true source of inspiration. I leverage these in my creations to harness the ancient powers of both the individual materials, and what, and who, they represent.
My homages are meant to honor and bring light to the beauty and incredible depth of divinity that the cultures of the world hold dear.
It’s especially meaningful to me when I make a piece for a deity I have asked for blessings from myself.
When I sell at local markets here in the St Pete area I call it Spreading the Love.
I think I’m ready, and my jewelry is ready, to share that Love with the wider world.
