📢 Important Community Notice: Keeping Our Gaming Space Safe for Everyone
Hey everyone,
We love seeing you build, paint, and play here at the shop. To keep our community a welcoming and safe environment for absolutely everyone, we need to ask a huge favor regarding the hobby supplies brought into the store.
We have community members with severe, life-threatening airborne allergies and chemical sensitivities to specific solvents and chemicals. A recent incident highlighted how quickly a standard hobby supply can trigger a dangerous reaction.
To ensure everyone can breathe easily and play safely, we are implementing a few strict guidelines for in-store hobbying effective immediately:
• No Strong Solvents: Please do not bring or use acetone (including standard nail polish removers used for stripping miniatures) or turpentine/mineral spirits inside the shop.
• Check Your Glues & Cements: Many plastic cements (like Tamiya Extra Thin) and certain superglues release strong chemical vapors as they cure. If you are assembling models in the store, please only use low-odor, solvent-free adhesives, or do your gluing at home before coming in.
• No Spraying or Priming: Aerosol primers and airbrushing are strictly prohibited inside the gaming space.
• Be Mindful of Fresh Paint: If you just stripped or heavily glued a miniature at home using strong chemicals, please ensure it is fully dry, cured, and completely odorless before bringing it into the shop.
Our goal is never to restrict your creativity, but to protect the health of the people sitting next to you. Thank you all so much for your understanding, your quick cooperation, and for helping us keep this shop a safe haven for every gamer.
If you have any questions about which specific products are safe to use at the tables, please feel free to come talk to me directly!
