Thank you to everyone who joined us for the special screenings of The Fisher People last night and tonight!

We are incredibly grateful to the Mississippi State University Films team for the time, care, and dedication they put into capturing this important story. The experiences of the Vietnamese community on the Mississippi Gulf Coast are an important part of our region’s history and culture and have helped shape the Coast we know today.

A special thank you to the Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum in Biloxi for hosting these screenings and helping us bring the community together to share this important piece of Gulf Coast history.

It has been an honor for the Mississippi Gulf Coast National Heritage Area to work alongside our partners on a project that preserves these stories and shares them with a wider audience. Thank you to everyone who helped make these screenings possible and to everyone who came out to experience these stories with us.

If you missed the screenings, you can still watch The Fisher People on Mississippi Public Broadcasting. Tune in Fridays at 8:30 p.m. on Fridays to follow the series and learn more about the people, traditions, and stories that are part of our Mississippi Gulf Coast heritage.
