🥵 Whew! It's HOT out there! ☀
As temperatures climb this week, we're here with a friendly reminder: if it's too hot for you, it's probably too hot for your pets, too.
🐾 Walk early in the morning or later in the evening when sidewalks and pavement have had a chance to cool down.
🐾 Bring water for both you and your dog on outings.
🐾 Make sure pets have access to shade and fresh water throughout the day.
🐾 Consider shorter walks and more indoor enrichment when temperatures soar.
🚫 Avoid leaving pets in parked vehicles, even for a few minutes.
🚫 Be mindful of hot pavement. If you can't comfortably place the back of your hand on the pavement for several seconds, it's too hot for sensitive paws.
We know your dog may insist that a noon-time adventure sounds like a fantastic idea. Unfortunately, your dog is also willing to eat mystery objects and bark at leaves, so we encourage you to make the final decision. 😉
Stay cool, stay hydrated, and give your pets an extra treat for surviving what feels like the surface of the sun.
