Was about to go out on the lake for a while but the sun hit and it was just too damn hot. Will get out in the morning before it heats up. At least water levels are almost normal now. Meanwhile, tying Isonychia #14 and Orange #12 as I start to plan some fall camping. Love the fall.

We got over two inches of rain yesterday, which helps. Lake is back to normal midsummer levels. I bailed the boat out yesterday and am charging the trolling motor battery now. Hope to get out before it gets too hot. Little streamers and foam bugs on the menu.

Looking foward to getting out this fall, I love the late season Isonychia action. Tying these now on barbless hooks for my own use (and because I accidentally ordered 500 barbless hooks 🙄😆) along with some Orange.

I have two rods from JD and let me tell you: he is a true craftsman. It's a ton of fun working out details with him and you end up with a rod exactly as you want it. As July slowly turns to August, thoughts of fall fishing are swirling in my head. Isonychia Softshoe, October and tan caddis, some small olives, a few black crickets plus a couple late season hoppers, and a few Kreelex should see me through from September until the snow flies.

Diagnosed today with bone on bone arthritis in my right (casting/tying) shoulder. Will eventually need replacement. Anyone out there with experience in this procedure? How is casting or tying post surgery? Any info appreciated.
