Prairie Woods

Prairie Woods Visit our website: www.prairiewoodschristmas.com Opens the day after thanksgiving. Planting of the trees began in 2002 and each year around 200 trees are added.

Prairie Woods Christmas tree farm is located fifteen miles southwest of Lincoln, Nebraska, on 5 ½ acres of prairie land. There is a smattering of white pine trees but mostly fir trees are grown. Come stroll through the acreage and enjoy the beauty of the area. Then, enjoy a cup of hot chocolate or c***r after you’ve made your tree selection. Candy canes are available for the children. If our hour

s are inconvenient for you give us a call and we can schedule a time for you to come out! TREES:
Both types of fir trees have soft needles (no prickling when decorating) and sturdy branches, which hold even the heaviest of ornaments. There are trees of various sizes. Trees are individually priced and start at about $9.00 / foot. Find us on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/prairiewoodschristmas

ABOUT THE OWNERS;
Les and Judi Korte are the owners/managers of the tree farm. Les has worked in the agronomy department of the University of Nebraska for 37 years, doing soybean research. Judi is a retired registered nurse. Both Les & Judi grew up with a love for the land. Les was raised on a farm in northeast Nebraska and Judi’s love of the prairie began in the Sandhills. The tree farm fulfills a longtime dream of growing things in the fertile soil of Nebraska. The Kortes look forward to your visit to their Prairie Woods farm.

♻️ Done with your Christmas tree? Don’t trash it — recycle it!

Recycling your real tree helps turn it into useful mulch and habitat instead of sending it to a landfill. It’s an easy way to give back to the environment after the holidays.

🎄 For Lincoln & Lancaster County residents:
You can drop your undecorated tree at any of the 6 locations at the link below from Dec. 26 through Jan. 14.

🌲 Be sure to remove all lights, ornaments, tinsel, and the stand before dropping off.

Thanks for choosing a real tree — and for keeping it green all the way to the end!

The City will provide Christmas tree drop-off sites December 25 through mid-January, 2026 at six locations.
