Whenever I book a client—whether it’s a large wedding or a small celebration—I take it personally. My mission is always the same: to do everything in my power to create an unforgettable experience and lasting memories.
One thing I’ve learned over the years is that Mother Nature has a mind of her own. You can watch the weather for weeks, think everything is clear, and then suddenly she shows up roaring like a lion.
For the last two weeks, I checked the weather constantly. Even yesterday, we spent the entire day making sure every detail was perfect for this beautiful wedding. A thunderstorm crept in, bringing what felt like a mini tornado with it. Watching tents fly and guests run for cover was scary. But in moments like that, fear is never an option.
Sometimes there’s nothing you can do. Sometimes there’s a lot you can do.
As I looked around last night, I knew there was no way I could let the evening end the way it was headed after such a beautiful ceremony. So I offered the bride the opportunity to move the celebration to The Bloom Bar, and she said yes.
In the pouring rain, we loaded drinks, into trucks and cars and moved the entire bar into the . We were soaking wet. The DJ packed up his equipment and moved with us. The bride, groom, and the guests who stayed were able to continue celebrating and enjoy the rest of their evening.
This wasn’t the way I wanted the wedding to end, but we know that God always has a plan.
When I look back on this day, I won’t remember the storm. I’ll remember the people who came together after the storm and did everything in their power to make this event a success.
To the amazing coordinator: thank you for staying calm in the middle of the chaos. Even when the pressure got to me and tears filled my eyes, you were there. I always say it’s not about the war—it’s about the soldiers who go into battle with you. Those are the people who determine whether you win or lose.
Last night reminded me that no matter what challenges come our way, teamwork, determination, and heart can overcome almost anything. !
And for that, I am incredibly grateful.
