🤎 Why “The Chocolate Dog?”

One of the questions I’ve been asked the most over the years is…

“How did you come up with the name The Chocolate Dog?”

The story actually began before the store.

When we were building picture frames and painting furniture inside our garage at home, we rescued a chocolate Labrador and named him R***r. He quickly stole our hearts.

When I took the leap to open my own shop, I wanted a name that was unique and reflected my personality and love for dogs. R***r was always in the shop with me as I painted furniture. He usually had more paint on him than the piece I was painting. And the name just came to me one day. At the time, I only had a small booth inside Down Home Gift Market ran by Miss Dorothy Stewart. The Lord just started blessing and we grew from there!

Every time you shop TCD, you’re supporting and encouraging a small business that started with faith, family, and one very special dog. 🐾🤎
