💜 **HOPE STARTS HERE!** 💜
What an incredible opportunity to gather at Bethany Church last week for Hope Starts Here: A Faithful Home for Every Child, alongside pastors, faith leaders, state leaders, and community partners from across Louisiana.
A heartfelt thank you to Jeff Landry, Jim Daly, President of Focus on the Family, Bethany Church, Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services and all the incredible leaders who are bringing awareness, encouraging action, and uniting communities to strengthen families and protect children.
❤️ My biggest takeaway? AWARENESS.
The more we create awareness of the NEED, awareness of HOW to help, and awareness of WHERE to find help and support, the greater impact we can make in our communities.
But one message really stood out to me: We must reach families BEFORE they reach a crisis.
At Center of Hope for Tangipahoa Inc., this is exactly why the work we do every day matters so much.
Sometimes hope starts with something small. A family shopping for affordable necessities. A conversation in the store. A listening ear. A little help when life gets difficult.
Our low-barrier approach allows us to walk alongside individuals and families, build relationships, establish trust, and connect them with support before a small need becomes a major crisis.
We don't have to wait until a family is facing homelessness, a child enters foster care, or a parent feels they have nowhere left to turn.
Prevention begins with connection. And connection begins with awareness.
Every church, every organization, every community leader, and every individual has a role to play. We don't all have to do the same thing, but we can all do SOMETHING.
So today, I challenge you to:
📖 LEARN — Become aware of the needs around you and the resources available.
🙏 PRAY — For children, families, caregivers, and those working to provide support.
❤️ JOIN — Find your place in the solution. Whether through volunteering, sharing resources, supporting a family, or simply being someone who cares.
Because when we come together, we can do more than respond to a crisis. We can help prevent one.
Let's work together to ensure that HOPE STARTS HERE — in our churches, in our neighborhoods, in our communities, and in each of us.
